11/1/2014: DIA DeLos MUERTOS -Day of the Dead, Night of Delight!

HedonSalon (aka “KinkySalon NorCal”) presents our annual Halloween/Harvest season celebration        

DAY OF THE DEAD;

  -NIGHT OF DELIGHT!

The biggest (and sexiest) HedonSalon we have is our annual Halloween/Harvest event and this year our salon is shaping up to be a great gathering. Inspired by our friends work starting the first annual Conscious Dying Summit ( http://consciousdyingsummit.com/ ) we wanted to combine our well-known love of sensual fun and revelry with the deep, soulful sense of joy traditionally celebrated in this season. Disguise and costumes are de rigur at every HedonSalon, but the Halloween season is already a costumed occasion, so it wouldn’t be too difficult to feel into a persona for the evening. The theme is Dia DeLos Muertos and, optimally, the costumes would involve sexy versions and clever takes on the traditional azukar Calavera (decorative sugar skulls). Also welcome are the various sorts of the Undead (such as ghosts, vampires, zombies, mummies, ghouls). Gothic gear would fit right in. Actually, any sort of Halloween costume would be fine as well.

As with any HedonSalon gathering, fetish-wear, lingerie or nudity are always acceptable. If you run into trouble regarding costume, we will have talented artists on hand to help you out with face painting and loaning costume accessories. “Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday observed throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars called ofrendas, honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed.

Our Salon is shaping up nicely! So far we have the following presentations and offerings:

-The erotic DEAD POETS SLAM, featuring famed living poets embodying the great poets of past. Performing the most sensuous and ribald selections, the legends come alive for our appreciation and pleasure!

-Zodiac birthday wish fulfillment (see below for description).

-Delectable delights prepared and provided by Crystal and our cast of clever culinary calaveras.

-A friendly, attractive and interesting crowd of guests within a clean, comfy, cozy space to play in multiple rooms with a variety of delights.

-And let us not forget YOU! At HedonSalon, everyone is part of the show. Your presence, costume, character and playful spirit proliferate and blends with the atmosphere of uplifting jubilation. It is this life-affirming revelry that the souls of our dearly departed enjoy and appreciate. That’s the point of Day of the Dead: In playfully commemorating and celebrating our beloved deceased, we come to accept our own eventual demise with grace, dignity and joy. All who live shall one day pass. We honor our ancestors as we appreciate the preciousness of life with expression, celebration and fun. 

BIRTHDAY WISHES FULFILLED!

Both birth and death are parts of life, and for our gathering, we tie these two together in celebration. Each HedonSalon features a portion of the evening where any guest born under the zodiac sun signs of the particular time of year (in this case, LIBRA, SCORPIO and SAGITTARIUS) may have the opportunity to reveal a birthday wish or fantasy. The rest of us shall co-conspire to GRANT YOU YOUR WISH! (-and granting these sexy wishes can be just as fun as receiving them…) PLEASE NOTE: We ask that if you were born under one of the above mentioned zodiac signs and you do accept this opportunity to have your dream fulfilled, please let us know AHEAD OF TIME. We want to tighten this segment of the Salon and commit to it with more organization and intention. (-for more info, look at the “About” tab)

WHERE TO GO? WHERE TO STAY? Due to the discreet nature of HedonSalon, we do not reveal the exact location of our events until we have an RSVP and confirmation from our prospective guests (-and they are subject to change from one event to another) -However, we will tell you that it will be in Middletown, California, United States of America; a location not far from the quaint wind country town of Calistoga and very close to the fabulous Harbin Hot Springs. If you are in want of your own lodging for the evening, let us know, as there are several options, including discounted rates and limited free space for our guests from out of town.

 MAKE A WEEKEND AWAY OF IT!

-The day after HedonSalon many of us will (as usual) have brunch together and enjoy a refeshing soak at the nearby hot springs retreat spot, which will have its own festivities scheduled that very weekend. You can even join SENSEI (who is an actual poet laureate of local renown!) for his weekly writers workshop in the early evening at the retreats comfy lounge. Casinos, clubs, dining, wine tasting and tours nearby; the forests and lakes of Lake County make for excellent hiking and outdoor activities. We are nearby neighbors to Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino Counties, with the ocean coast being a pleasant drive away. Many of our repeat guests enjoy driving up casually through the Napa wine valley. Rideshares are available and encouraged!
